Pictured left L-R, Commissioner Murray, Lorraine Netro (Old Crow's MLA in the Yukon Legislative Assembly), and Chief Linklater. The role of the RCMP in Old Crow is more than just law enforcement. They take an active role in community activities and functions. They attend our annual General Assemblies and have frequent meetings with Chief and Council. In the past RCMP members depended on the Gwitchin to guide them on their patrols. They visited and continue to visit Gwitchin Elders to acquire insight with respect to culture, tradition, and current issues. Further information on the RCMP can be found on their national website here. |
